HERD: The Film

Following the success of Orlando Gough’s 10-day sonic spectacle, HERD, last July as part of Kirklees Year of Music 2023, Artichoke presents the film HERD. Directed by Colm Hogan, this 25-minute art film takes us on a sheep-filled, musical journey through the Kirklees landscape – its rural hills, waterways and post-industrial towns – with a score specially re-mixed by Gough.

Join us to re-live the magic of HERD at the Tate Modern, London (30 January 2024) and Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield (6 February 2024). The film screening will be followed by a special in conversation between Orlando Gough and invited guests about art, the environment and the future of sheep. Extra Curricular band, featuring Thabo Mkwananzi and Ruby Wood, will perform live.
